Always. Dust sheets go down before we start, and the rubbish goes with us at the end of each day.

Yes. We test everything before we leave and hand over the paperwork that applies to the work.

Yes. We can help with alarms, repairs and upgrades in rented homes, and keep you updated while the tenants are in.

Yes. A single socket, a new light or a fault that keeps tripping is still worth a call.

Switch off the circuit at the fuse board if it is safe to do so, stop using the socket or appliance, and call an electrician. If there is smoke or fire, get out and call 999.

It depends on the size of the home and how it is built. A typical three-bedroom house takes around one to two weeks of electrical work, with plastering and decorating afterwards. You get a timeline with the quote.

Often yes, working room by room, but a rewire is dusty and the power will be off for parts of some days. We will talk through the plan that suits your home and routine.

If you have an old fuse box, no RCD protection or a board that trips for no clear reason, it is worth having it looked at. We will tell you honestly whether an upgrade is needed or not.

Yes. Everything is tested before we leave, and you get the paperwork that applies to the job.

Yes. We can replace old fluorescent fittings with LED panels, track lights or downlights, usually a floor or a room at a time.

Wired systems are very reliable and suit homes being renovated. Wireless systems are quicker to fit in finished homes. We will recommend what suits your property.

Most modern systems can be set and unset from an app, with alerts if something is triggered.

Yes, from a single house to a shared entrance with a handset in every flat.

New homes and major renovations need mains-wired, interlinked alarms. In existing homes battery alarms can meet the minimum, but mains-wired interlinked alarms give better protection because one alarm sets them all off.

Press the test button once a month, and replace alarms at the end of their life, usually around ten years.

Yes. Shared houses often need more detection than a family home. We can look at what you have and what is needed.

It depends on what you already use. We keep it simple, so the lights still work from normal switches and the whole family can use it.

Often not. Many smart switches fit existing wiring, though some need a neutral at the switch. We check before you buy anything.

Yes. Wired access points in the right places fix most dead spots far better than plug-in boosters.
